Marc Nozell for NH State Representative
My name is Marc Nozell, and I am thrilled to announce my candidacy for State Representative for Merrimack, New Hampshire. As a proud resident of Merrimack for over 30 years, I have seen firsthand the beauty of our community and the challenges we face. Together with my family, we have deeply felt the impact of PFAS contamination in our town, which has only strengthened my resolve to serve and protect our community.
A Background Rooted in Merrimack
My journey in Merrimack began over three decades ago. Here, my spouse and I raised our six wonderful children, all of whom have benefited from the excellent educational opportunities in our town. Many of our children participated in the FIRST Robotics program at Merrimack High School, and I was privileged to serve as a Software Mentor for over six years. This experience not only allowed me to share my passion for technology but also to witness the incredible potential of our young people.
I earned my bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1986, and I have dedicated over 30 years to the computer industry. My professional experience has provided me with a strong foundation in problem-solving and innovation, skills that I believe are crucial for effective leadership.
Community Involvement and Leadership
My commitment to our community extends beyond my professional life. I have had the honor of serving as the President of the Merrimack Historical Society for two years, where I worked diligently to preserve and celebrate our town's rich history. Additionally, I was a board member of the former New Hampshire Challenge, an organization that focused on disability issues from a family perspective. My involvement in these roles has given me a deep appreciation for the diverse needs and histories of our residents.
Moreover, I serve on the board of a historic family house dating back to 1722 in New York State. This role involves preserving the property and educating the public about its significance in state history, further underscoring my commitment to education and preservation.
